Meet Kelly
I should probably tell you a little bit about myself and why I had to launch a greeting card line. Well, I’m from Long Island, New York (hence the trash mouth) and currently live in Charlotte, North Carolina (hence the seasonal allergies). I’ve spent most of my “career” in sales and marketing, but things took an M. Night Shyamalan twist last year and I’ll be starting grad school soon to get my Master of Social Work. Yes, that’s right, I love making inappropriate cards, but I also want to heal the world. We’ll see how this plays out.
I’ve been dreaming about launching a greeting card line for an embarrassingly long amount of time. I guess I was waiting for just the right amount of impending doom—well, 2020 happened and here we are! I hope you like my cards and I’d truly love it if you bought some. But, to be honest, that’s not really why I made them. I made them because they make me happy.
For a long time I felt like I wasn’t doing enough to keep up with my jobs, my relationships, or even the Kardashians (sorry, I had to). I made long lists and became obsessed with “being productive.” My poor little cards didn’t stand a chance. They fell into the “unproductive” category. The profit margin on cards is nonexistent (as my Type-A husband not so subtly pointed out a few years back). They felt frivolous. When I told people about my cards I would say, “I have this dream of making greeting cards...oh, it’s just a silly thing, really.” But guess what, no matter how much I downplayed its importance, my dream didn’t go away, and neither will yours! The world needs our “silly things!”
So look through my cards. Laugh. Buy one. Buy a few. Or don’t. I have no idea where this venture will lead, but I had to prove to myself that we live in a world where dreams come true—even the “silly ones.”
